Detail
Coprob, one of Italy’s leading sugar producers, required a highly reliable and large-scale combustion solution capable of supplying the substantial steam demand needed during the sugar campaign.
The facility operates two major water-tube boilers feeding critical processes such as diffusion, evaporation, crystallization, and steam-intensive production stages.
The objective was to ensure stable high steam output, optimize energy efficiency, and guarantee low-NOx, ATEX-certified operation across both boiler systems.
Implemented Solution
General Bruciatori engineered and delivered two burner configurations, providing a combined installed thermal capacity of 196 MW, tailored to the steam load requirements of each boiler.
1) 135 t/h Water-Tube Boiler
- 2 × AMR 18 G P AC LX Atex burners
- 62 MW each, 124 MW total
- Optimized for operation with 100°C preheated combustion air
- Fully ATEX-compliant mechanical and electrical execution
2) 90 t/h Water-Tube Boiler
- 4 × AMR 10 G P AC LX Atex burners
- 18 MW each, 72 MW total
- Integrated with the same high-performance combustion philosophy
- Advanced air–gas ratio control for low-NOx operation
Both systems were engineered to provide stable combustion, low emissions, and maximum operational continuity for the demanding sugar production process.
Results Achieved
After installation and commissioning, the plant achieved:
- Continuous high-capacity steam generation during peak production periods
- Improved combustion efficiency and reduced operating costs
- Full compliance with ATEX safety requirements
- Significantly reduced NOx emissions
- Enhanced operational flexibility thanks to multi-burner architecture
Benefits Delivered
- Scalable combustion capacity for high steam demand
- Robust combined output of 196 MW
- Low-NOx, high-efficiency combustion performance
- Heavy-duty mechanical design with corrosion-resistant construction
- Increased reliability and reduced downtime
- Complete compliance with ATEX hazardous-area safety standards
