Overview
ETC6028 is a dedicated servomotor for the ETC6000 Burner Management System, intended for accurate positioning of air dampers and fuel valves. It supports repeatable air-fuel ratio profiles by using electronic positioning rather than mechanical linkages that can drift over time.
Core functions
- Drives precise positioning of air dampers to support electronic ratio control
- Drives accurate positioning of gas and oil metering valves to follow programmed profiles
- Supports a dedicated servomotor per controlled element to eliminate mechanical linkages in the drive train
- Helps maintain stable combustion profiling by avoiding hysteresis and backlash associated with linkages
- Supports complex burner arrangements by allowing multiple servomotors within one ETC6000 system
- Reports operational faults to the control system, including communication loss and position related errors
Key technical features
- Servomotor range within the ETC6000 architecture covers 4 Nm to 40 Nm sizes
- Positioning resolution of 0.1 degrees over a 90 degree stroke for fine control
- High repeatability supports consistent air-fuel ratio profile reproduction
- Up to 10 servomotors per system can be supported with ETC6000 series controllers
- Intelligent fault reporting includes loss of communication and positional errors
- Unique serial number per servomotor supports traceability and system integrity
- Replacement drives require controller-specific passcode recommissioning for secure operation
- Reduced wiring infrastructure compared to designs needing individual channels per drive
- Consolidated connections reduce terminations, lowering failure points and improving reliability
- Designed for integration with advanced control and monitoring platforms when used with complementary systems
Options and customization
- Fully certified hazardous-area versions are available, including ATEX and IECEx compliant options
- EX versions at 20 Nm and 40 Nm are available as ETC6023-Ex and ETC6024-Ex
- Larger drives can be integrated to an ETC controller via the ETC6020 line voltage servo interface when higher actuation force is required
- Third-party drives for other zones can be integrated via the ETC CANBus servo interface
Typical applications
- Electronic positioning of secondary air dampers and fuel metering valves on industrial burners
- Multi-servomotor burner configurations where repeatable air-fuel ratio profiling is required
- Combustion systems in hazardous environments where certified servomotor variants are needed
