Overview
ETC 6083-1 is an oxygen trim solution for ETC controllers that improves combustion efficiency by adding flue gas oxygen feedback to the burner control loop. It continuously measures oxygen in the exhaust and automatically fine-tunes the fuel to air ratio to keep combustion close to optimum across changing loads and operating conditions.
Core functions
- Enables integration of an oxygen probe to ETC controllers for closed-loop oxygen trim control
- Continuously monitors flue gas oxygen concentration and uses real-time feedback for combustion correction
- Automatically adjusts the burner fuel to air ratio to maintain efficient combustion under steady and varying loads
- Uses an adaptive trim algorithm suitable for continually modulating burners
- Provides configurable oxygen and temperature alarm limits for operational supervision
- Can display and retransmit boiler efficiency and calculated CO2 when an ETC 6086 air temperature sensor is included in the peripheral configuration
Key technical features
- Oxygen sensor is installed at the flue gas outlet to measure exhaust oxygen for trim control
- ETC6083 probe design with no moving parts for robust operation
- No pumped reference air required for the probe
- Stainless steel probe construction for flue environments
- 6 micron sintered stainless steel filter for the sensing element
- Suitable for flue gas temperatures up to 540°C (1000°F)
- Integrated thermocouple within the probe
- Probe size range covers flue sizes from 0.3 m to 4.0 m across
- Exceptionally quick probe response time supports dynamic combustion control
- Compatible with multiple fuels including natural gas, oil, and LPG
Options and customization
- Peripheral configuration can include the ETC 6086 air temperature sensor to enable boiler efficiency display and calculated CO2 retransmission
- Selectable probe sizes to match flue diameters from 0.3 m to 4.0 m
- Configurable oxygen and temperature alarm limits to suit site requirements
- Configuration support for different fuel types including natural gas, oil, and LPG
Typical applications
- Industrial and commercial boiler rooms requiring oxygen trim to reduce fuel use and stabilise combustion performance
- Modulating burner installations where the trim algorithm must cope with continuously changing firing rates
- Retrofit upgrades on existing burners and boilers to improve combustion efficiency and reduce CO2 emissions
